We’re reaching out to you because you’ve sold or listed items on eBay that may fall under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.
If you qualify as a packaging producer, you may need to provide EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) Packaging registration numbers for the EU countries where you make product packaging (including shipping materials) available for the first time.
Actions Required
If you qualify as a packaging producer, you may need to provide EPR Packaging registration numbers on eBay for the EU countries where you make product packaging available for the first time.
If required, you can now enter your EPR Packaging registration numbers and certify that your packaging meets the requirements directly in your Account Settings on eBay:
- From Account Settings, select Business information (available on desktop or tablet only)
- Go to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) numbers and select Add or Manage
- Select a country and the packaging category, then enter the relevant packaging registration number
- Certify that your packaging materials meet the applicable rules by checking the indicated box when you enter your first packaging number
- Select Add
You’ll need to repeat this process for each EPR Packaging registration number you want to add. Once saved, your packaging numbers are stored in your account and may be displayed on all your listings, where required.
Consequence of Inaction
If you don’t provide these numbers where required, your listings may be hidden to buyers on eBay in the affected countries.
If you’ve previously provided packaging registration numbers for Germany and/or France before the 14th of August 2026, we’ve automatically migrated those numbers and applied self-certification that your packaging meets the requirements based on information you already provided. If the migrated information is accurate and up to date, there’s nothing else you need to do. If it’s not, you can remove it, submit your updated EPR Packaging registration numbers, and re-certify that your packaging materials meet the requirements.
